The standard provides for two kinds of dates: 'Date issued' and 'Date modified'. The dates must be represented in the ISO all-numeric date standard YYYY-MM-DD. The two dates are defined as follows: 'Date issued' is the date of formal issuance (i.e., posting to the Web site) of the resource. 'Date modified' is the most recent date on which the document was substantially changed and re-posted to the Web site.

La norme prévoit deux genres de dates : Date de diffusion et Date de modification. Les dates doivent être indiquées sous forme numérique, selon la norme ISO (AAAA-MM-JJ). Les deux dates sont définies de la façon suivante : Date de diffusion : date officielle de diffusion (c.-à.-d. publication sur un site Web) de la ressource. Date de modification : date la plus récente à laquelle la ressource a été substantiellement modifiée et publiée de nouveau sur le site Web.
